MULTI PANEL WALK ON STRUCTURAL GLASS PANELS
As a structural glass installer, Structural Glass Design will design all fixing and support details to suit the specific project or space.
Glass floors can be installed as one panel, however for some larger installations minimal steel sections or frameless glass beams can be used to support any glass joints as necessary.

HISTORICAL & ARCHAEOLOGICAL WALK ON GLASS FLOORS & ROOFLIGHTS
CITTADELLA, GOZO, MALTA
Drive on glass floors were installed above ancient stone paths around Gozo’s Cittadella, which has been nominated as an UNESCO World Heritage site.
The project was carried out in different phases and inaugurated by Prime Minister, Dr Joseph Muscat.
Our high specification drive on glass is designed for use in commercial pedestrian traffic areas as well as being able to withstand the loading of vehiclular traffic.
LIDL, DUBLIN
Our multi panel glass floors were installed at Lidl, Dublin to allow shoppers to see an 11th Century floor below.
We used our lifting gantries to menouvre the panels into place.
Although they don’t anticipate that any vehicle will be driving through the store, the weight of many shoppers and full shopping trolleys could be quite substantial, therefore requireing our highest specification drive on glass.
The Lidl now features a glass window in the floor allowaing customers to see the preserved domestic structure below.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TIME CAPSULE
The capsule is on view through the glass cover in the West Atrium and part of the stadium tour route.
Time capsules have traditionally been used as a means of communicating with future generations, containing key items from the time in order to provide an insight into the era.
The stadium capsule contains a number of artefacts and documents that will be opened in 50 years’ time.

THE PANNAL WATER TOWER, HARROGATE
Featured on Channel 4 “The Restoration Man”.
The well is one the most important features of the Water Tower. On the first show, George Clarke went down the well and brought up a sample of water from the very bottom.
When he revisited the Water Tower the following year, George was keen to test out the strength of our walk on glass cover by jumping up and down on it. We’re pleased to report that it stood up well to the challenge!
Our walk on glass well covers are designed to reduce condensation and minimise heat loss.
We also manufacture drive on glass well covers.
DONCASTER WOOL MARKET, YORKSHIRE
Restoration of medieval well discovered during refurbishment works at the Wool Market. This has now been preserved and is a great feature for shoppers visiting the market.
SANDBLASTED ANTI-SLIP / PRIVACY OPTIONS
If your glass floor is outside, you may wish to consider a sandblasted anti-slip surface. It’s a great way to add privacy too.
We also offer a full range of anti-slip glass (not sandblasted).
COLOURED WALK ON GLASS PANELS
Coloured pigment can be added to the interlayers in glass floors and rooflights, giving the effect of coloured glass.

We can install your project using our own specialist glass lifting equipment and experienced installers trained by us. We regularly install large glass panels & rooflights for other glass companies, so unless you wish to carry out the installation yourself, we have this covered.
